Return to Who We Are

To balance its membership, the Roundtable seeks recreation, parks and tourism leaders from government, business and the public. The Roundtable welcomes applications from qualified and interested candidates.

The following steps are used to qualify and approve candidates for membership in the Roundtable.

  1. Membership candidate asks an existing Roundtable member to act as his/her sponsor.
  2. Candidate provides the sponsor with an application package that includes his/her resume and a letter or email expressing his/her interest in becoming a member of the Roundtable that also identifies which category of membership the candidate will represent: public agency (federal, state or local) , private enterprise or trade association, user group, environmental group, individual, or education.
  3. Sponsor sends the application package to the Roundtable's Executive Committee (EC) with the sponsor's recommendation.
  4. The EC reviews the sponsor recommendation and application package, and determines if the candidate meets criteria for membership and whether there is a need for representation within the candidate's category of membership.
  5. The EC then notifies the general membership of screened candidates. The general membership is then given ten (10) days to comment to the EC.
  6. The EC considers any response and follows up with commenting members.
  7. The EC makes a final determination and notifies the candidate of its decision.
