The symposium featured speakers and successful programs for promoting and building healthier lifestyles through connecting Californians to the outdoors. This symposium was a rare opportunity for the health professionals and the outdoor community to work together. Participants learned and discussed successful programs, partnerships, tools, and funding sources for implementing programs in their area.

This symposium focused on methods of introducing the outdoors to new audiences, such as youth and new immigrants. Connecting Californians to the Outdoors was held May 25 - 26 in Los Angeles.
